Rooms
The Lodge is built in a traditional Lao style: one level with wide corridors and a clay-tiled floor, with beams and floors of rosewood, topped with a two-tiered sloping roof.
All of the spacious rooms have an en-suite bathroom with a hot shower, and a terrace offering a panoramic view of this still-wild section of Mekong. The air can be refreshed by ceiling fan, though the temperature always stays comfortable in this river valley with naturals drafts.
The Lodge consists of three buildings that hold :
Superior Rooms: Pakbeng Lodge has 20 superior rooms, distributed between two buildings bordering the Mekong. Decorated with bamboo, Hmong wall hangings, and with parquet floors of rosewood, the feel is most certainly local. The en-suite bathrooms have hot showers.
Each large private balcony has deckchairs and overlooks the Mekong
From this vantage point, you can observe the last boats returning to the port, while the sun dips behind the mountains at the river's edge.
Deluxe Rooms: The Deluxe Rooms feature 24 square meters of floor space with high ceilings. The walls, beams, and doors are all made of wood; the luxurious parquet floors of rosewood. An added benefit is the walls, which are completely removable with a system of sophisticated sliding panels. Once loosened, an incredible view of the Mekong and the surrounding nature is available from inside the room. A rare treat!
The bed is centered in the room, and hides the sink, shower, and toilet from sight. A spacious balcony with deckchairs completes room's arrangement.
Suites : Suites features 32 square meters of floor space, with high ceilings. While Suites are quite larger, their characteristics are identical to those of the Deluxe Rooms, with the exception of the addition of a lounge that completes the room's arrangement. Attached is a large private balcony that offers additional space and circulation for the room.
The walls within the Deluxe Rooms and Suites are made of wooden panels, with French windows opening wide enough to expose an exceptional scene of the mountains and the river below, looking out over your own private balcony.
The 180° views are unforgettable.
